Scientific advice with experience to back it up
Why Cancer the Facts?
Cancer is complex.
Patients routinely misunderstand basic, crucial concepts in cancer prevention, cure and recurrence reduction.
Sorting fact from fiction is hard. That’s why CancerTheFacts was started.
Alexander Kirichenko, M.D., Ph.D and Vladimir Kirichenko
Alexander Kirichenko, Chief Content Strategist
As a radiation oncologist, Dr. Alexander Kirichenko has spent more than 30 years on the front lines of fighting cancer. But he also believes he has a responsibility to improve people’s understanding of cancer and cancer prevention. Noting the lack of reliable information…and abundance of inaccurate information…about cancer online, Dr. Kirichenko curates information for Cancer The Facts, a free website that has over 10,000 subscribers. The goal: educate around commonly-asked questions and misperceptions about cancer, particularly in the area of prevention.
Vladimir Kirichenko, Creator and Head Editor
Vladimir envisioned and built cancerthefacts.com out of a realization that patients benefit tremendously from physician-curated information. Vladimir works with Dr. Kirichenko and other physicians to identify important topics and studies, and then with writers to translate this information into accessible articles. Vladimir’s career focuses primarily on the intersection of medicine, technology adoption, and strategy consulting. Vladimir is an ex-BCG consultant and graduate of the University of Virginia.
